Eastleigh Folk Dance Club Eastleigh Folk Dance Club meets on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month, except on Bank holidays. Visitors are welcome, admission is £4.

Eastleigh Folk Dance Club meets on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month, except on Bank holidays and at the end of July and in August. It meets at the Railway Institute in Romsey Road, Eastleigh, SO50 9FE, from 7.30 pm until 10.00 pm. We have a variety of callers and we welcome both experienced folk dancers and complete beginners. Dances are always fully explained. We cover a mixture of styles, including English country dances, 17th and 18th century dances, recently composed dances and American squares and contras. We have live music provided by volunteer musicians. The club is open to people of all ages.

After the weekend storms, hopefully the weather on Monday will improve for Eastleigh Folk Dance Club.

Monday 26th October from 19:30 to 22:00 at Junction Central, Eastleigh.

Don't forget that there is a now an evening charge of £2 if you park in any of the Eastleigh Borough Council car parks.

Your caller for the night is Ian Nichols, who organises the SHOCC Ceilidhs at the Hilt Community Centre in Chandlers Ford and is also an excellent caller, calling at major national folk festivals. Renowned for his red boots and excessive bounce; he brings all that enthusiasm and experience to his selection of dances and clear calling.

Note: 'bouncing' is not obligatory on Monday night at Eastleigh !

Music will be provided by the EFDC house band, arranged this week by Richard Perry and Chris Hammond, as Stuart Martyn is taking a well-earned half-term break.
Admission is £4 (£2 for students)

Just a reminder that Eastleigh Folk Dance Club is happening this coming Monday 12th October from 19:30 to 22:00 at Junction Central, Eastleigh.

It is a Club Callers night - if you would like to call at dance or two, just let us know when you arrive, and you'll be added to the list. No previous calling experience required, just knowledge of your favourite dance and off you go !

Hi Dancers and Musicians,

Just a reminder that Eastleigh Folk Dance Club is happening this coming Monday 28th September from 19:30 to 22:00 at Junction Central, Eastleigh.

Our caller on Monday is Tom Gregory, Tom is an experienced and cheerful caller who calls most weekends at weddings and other celebrations as well as at folk festivals and ceilidh series. He most regularly calls for the bands Rufus Return and Jigfoot.

Tom is a director of FolkActive, who share folk arts in the community, education and healthcare settings. He leads the education stream, hosting the FASH schools' ceilidhs and also folksong and stepdance workshops. He records and performs folk music as 'Tom Gregory with the Dust and Mischief Band'.

Tom is always excited to share folk dance with those new to it, so this week will be a great evening to bring your 'first timer' friends along!

Music will be provided by our multi-talented house band, led by Stuart Martyn on accordion. Admission is £4 (£2 for students)

Thank you to all our Club Callers that called some interesting dances 💃 🕺 . We danced the night away, also we wished Margaret a very happy 90th birthday. Hopefully we will see lots of you on Monday 28th September for our next Eastleigh Folk Dance Club evening.
