October 27th is Day of the Dead for pets. Lighting candles for those that we have loved and lost in the hope that their spirits pay us a visit. It is said that, during the night of this day, our animals return to our world to visit their homes and delight in the offerings we have left them. What a beautiful tradition. I will definitely be lighting candles for my beloved Sammie and Trafford - I would give anything to have them with me again. October 13th - Secondary Breast Cancer Day. One officially observed day to raise public awareness of metastatic breast cancer. Just one day out of a whole breast cancer awareness month. One day out of 352 days a year. This disease kills 31 people EVERYDAY!! Time to step-up the action, research and awareness peeps. Everyday is an opportunity for secondary breast cancer awareness 🐝

I was officially a loser at the last night!! However, I am clinging to the thought that it was an amazing achievement to even be nominated as a finalist in the ‘One to Watch Practitioner of the Year’ category!! I guess sulking is what happens when you feel so passionately about something. I did still manage to have a fabulous night and it was great to see industry associates old and new. Big congratulations to the winners Hayley Bastable and Sarah Farren. I’m coming for your crowns next year 👑🐝
