Open Farm Sunday 2026 🚜

Open Farm Sunday is a national initiative that gives the public the opportunity to visit working farms and learn more about the essential role of British agriculture and food production.

We're sharing a couple of local farms taking part this year and opening their gates to visitors:

🌾 Hunts Hall Farm, CO9 2QE - Arable farm with glamping and stables.
Date: Sunday 7th June
Time of event: 11am - 5pm
Free entry

Activities including: tractor and trailer rides, local walks, view and sit in the farm machinery and fresh cakes and refreshments.

🚜 Rix Farms, CO6 4AP - Arable farm focusing on onions, potatoes, sugar beet and cereals.
Date: Thursday 4th & Friday 5th June
Time of event: 7pm
Free entry

Guided farm tour including: tour of the yard, storage buildings, machinery and crop fields during harvest followed by refreshments. (For ages 16 and over)

With over 10 years working with NFU Mutual, Katie brings a wealth of experience across a variety of customer-facing roles. She has extensive expertise in Commercial Insurance, working with clients ranging from SME businesses through to large corporate accounts. Katie also has strong knowledge of Agency compliance, helping to ensure processes are followed correctly and standards remain consistently high.

Outside of work, Katie enjoys walking her two Whippets, Mabel and Wren, as well as keeping active through spin classes and Pilates. She also enjoys baking and reading in her spare time.
