Most hospitality businesses don't realise their insurance has quietly fallen behind reality.

A new commercial fryer costs around 12% more than it did this time last year. Same goes for ovens, fridges, glassware, furniture. Replacement costs keep moving. Most policies don't.

The trouble is, when you claim on a policy that's behind the curve, insurers can reduce the payout proportionally. It's called the average clause, and it tends to show up at the worst possible moment.

Most homeowners insure their house for what it's worth on paper. The trouble is, insurance doesn't care what your house is worth. It cares what it costs to rebuild. And those two numbers are rarely the same.

This Mental Health Awareness Week, we wanted to share something honest.

After more than 10 years of building Movo, our Development Director Geza made the difficult decision to step away from the business for a year due to burnout.

Like so many business owners, he spent years in “go mode” long hours, constant pressure, always thinking about the next problem to solve. And eventually, the burnout cycle caught up with him.

The important part? He listened to what he needed. He took time out, focused on himself, and trusted the team around him to keep things moving forward.

Now, he’s back, refreshed, excited, and proud of the business that continued to grow while he focused on his mental health.
Burnout doesn’t mean failure.

Taking a break doesn’t mean giving up.
And asking for help doesn’t make you weak.
This week is a reminder that behind every business is a human being, and mental health matters just as much as success. 💙
