We were delighted to attend our first UNIBA Partners worldwide conference, which gave us plenty of chances to network with new friends from across the world who share our independent values and culture.

Wonderfully hosted by Callant and Casier Group and organised by the fantastic team at UNIBA - Anna-Maria Skiada, Jasper Havermans, Nicola McKaig and Mareen Hüffmeier – Polly Staveley and Ed Harrison had a wonderful few days in beautiful Knokke, Belgium, with thought provoking and informative sessions (and of course chocolate and b**r!)

Being part of this international network of independent insurance brokers is hugely valuable and we look forward to working with them all more!

Account Executive Derek Chissell has joined our Trade Credit team, following a 20-year career with Lloyds Banking Group / Bank of Scotland.

Based at Caledonia Dallas' Elgin office, Derek will focus initially on developing new business opportunities, both internally and with his existing networks before taking responsibility for his own portfolio of clients.

He joins our 13-strong Trade Credit team, led by Mark Whiteley, and his appointment is a further demonstration of the investment we continue to make in both Trade Credit insurance and the Scottish market.

We’re pleased to have Derek on board and look forward to supporting him as he builds stakeholder relationships, develops opportunities, and helps more businesses understand the value of Trade Credit insurance.

Freddie Banks has joined our Inverness office as a Trainee Personal Lines Insurance Broker with Caledonia Dallas. Freddie has a degree in Accountancy and Finance and his interest in the industry began after meeting Denise Crawford at a careers fair in Inverness.

Freddie was attracted to the firm by the varied and interesting nature of the role, along with the opportunities for professional development and long-term career progression.

He joins our team of eight specialists across the Inverness and Elgin offices, looking after our private clients, covering an extensive range of personal insurance needs. From everyday home and motor insurance to holiday homes, residential property owners and classic cars, the team manages a diverse portfolio - including properties insured for many millions.

Caledonia Dallas is supporting their local community with the sponsorship of the fabulous Inverness Caledonian Thistle Community Development Trust.

Jamie Carson and Paul Chiffers went to meet with Chief Executive, Craig Masterton, and celebrate the opening of the new sporting hub which was officially opened earlier this year by Scotland legend Ryan Christie, who used to play of the pitches at ICT hotshots.

We are very proud to continue our sponsorship of the Highland Rugby Football Club into its third year.

The club was founded in 1922 and now has three senior men’s teams, a senior women’s teams, junior boys and girls teams, a nursery team and an adult social touch team.

We have a great pitch side sign and also sponsor one of the players, Jamie Carson, who is one of our Account Executives. The team play in the Arnold Clark National League Division 2.

A huge thanks to the lovely people Swinton Park Estate where we were able to find out why being part of the Nourish by Swinton corporate partnership is so rewarding.

Tim Mortimer and other guests attended the Climate Action Academy Action Day exploring the connections between sustainability, biodiversity and food provenance across a working rural estate.

The day started with some (moderately successful) foraging in the vast kitchen gardens and forest, which was followed by some great insights into farming from Ed Staveley on his tenant farm. With a gin reception from Cooper King Distillery Sutton on the Forest and a lunch at Samuel’s Restaurant where the people, produce and practices behind the estate-to-plate approach were showcased alongside some of Ed’s free-range pork.
