RainbowCam 2025 Annual General Meeting Highlights

The 2025 Annual General Meeting of Rainbow Cooperative Credit Union of Cameroon was successfully held on Saturday 18th April 2025, bringing together members, leadership, and key stakeholders in a spirit of unity and progress.

The meeting provided an important platform to reflect on the institution’s journey over the past year while setting a clear direction for the future.

Key highlights of the AGM included insightful presentations from Management and the Supervisory Committee, outlining operational performance, institutional achievements, and areas for continued improvement. These reports demonstrated RainbowCam’s ongoing commitment to growth, accountability, and service excellence within the microfinance sector.

Financial matters were a central focus, with a review of the institution’s financial performance and strategic outlook. The proposed plans and budget for the coming year emphasized sustainability, innovation, and strengthened support for member institutions.

The presentation of the external audit further reinforced transparency and good governance, giving members confidence in the integrity of the organization’s financial operations.

The AGM also provided an opportunity for meaningful discussions, allowing members to actively engage, share perspectives, and contribute to key decisions shaping the future of RainbowCam.

In line with governance requirements, elections were conducted to strengthen leadership and ensure continuity in driving the institution’s vision forward.

Overall, the AGM reaffirmed RainbowCam’s commitment to financial inclusion, strong governance, and sustainable development, positioning the institution for greater impact in the year ahead.

The launch ceremony was honored by the presence of key administrative and institutional authorities, including the Divisional Officer, the Mayor, the Chief of Service for COOPGIC, representatives of the Ministry of Finance (MINFI) – South West Region, and the Regional Delegate for Vocational Training. Their presence underscores the importance of this initiative in strengthening professional education and bridging the skills gap across key sectors.
RHIAM is dedicated to delivering practical, industry-oriented training, beginning with Microfinance Institution Management and progressively expanding into other applied disciplines. This launch represents a bold step toward empowering young professionals with relevant skills for sustainable development.

Yesterday, February 5th, RAINBOWCAM had the privilege of engaging viewers on Prime Media TV in an insightful discussion on bridging the skills gap in the microfinance sector in Cameroon. It was a meaningful moment to share our vision for strengthening capacity, professionalism, and sustainability within the microfinance ecosystem.

During the interview, we proudly introduced the Rainbow Higher Institute of Applied Microfinance Management (RHIAM), scheduled for launch on February 7, 2026, in Buea. Beginning with its Microfinance Department, RHIAM is designed to equip university graduates with practical skills and in-depth expertise in Microfinance Institution Management, preparing them for real-world impact.

Additional departments will be introduced progressively, in line with our commitment to excellence, innovation, and national development. At RAINBOWCAM, we believe that empowering people with the right skills today is the key to building a stronger financial sector tomorrow.
