This is important. (Let me know if you’ve experienced this too)
The moment you decide you want to do more with your life than most people are willing to work for, you enter a season where it may feel like everyone is against you.
Some people actually are.
Some people will quietly hope you fail.
Some people will say they support you, but never cheer for you.
Some people will love you, but have no idea how to help you, so they do nothing.
Some people will mean well, but everything they do will slow you down, distract you, or make you question yourself.
And then there is the smallest group…
The people who actually want you to win AND help you win.
They encourage you.
They share your posts.
They become customers.
They send referrals.
They show up.
They speak life into your mission instead of fear into your dream.
You need to understand this, because if you don’t, you’ll mistake the lack of support from your current circle as proof that your dream is wrong.
It’s not.
The majority of the world is not against you.
The majority of the circle you’ve known up until this point may just not understand where you’re going.
There are strangers you haven’t even met yet who would cross oceans to be part of your mission.
Meanwhile, your neighbor may laugh at you.
Your friends may say you’ve changed.
Your family may get uncomfortable.
People who knew the old version of you may act like your growth is a betrayal.
But you cannot stop becoming who you’re supposed to become just because other people are more comfortable with who you used to be.
Every high achiever has to go through this process.
Identify the few people in your life who truly support you.
Love the ones who don’t, but stop waiting for permission from them.
Then go find the people who are looking for the exact mission, vision, opportunity, product, service, leadership, or movement you’re building.
Your job is not to convince everyone from your past to come with you.
Your job is to keep growing until you find the people who were meant to build the future with you.
