🏡 Thinking about a reverse mortgage? Don’t leave the family out of the conversation!

When exploring a reverse mortgage, involving adult children or other trusted family members can make a real difference.

In this video, I share a story about a woman who wanted to meet with me on her own. I respected her wishes, but looking back, I wonder if I could have encouraged her to consider including her son. She eventually cancelled our meeting, and I never heard from her again.

It was a reminder that my role goes beyond arranging a mortgage. It's about helping people make informed decisions, remaining objective, and encouraging family involvement whenever appropriate — while always respecting the homeowner's independence.

A special shout-out to Ron De Silva, who created the Certified Canadian Reverse Mortgage Consultant (CCRMC) designation and course. My training reinforced the importance of this approach and the value of family involvement.
