The Sandbox team was happy to visit Oak Bluff School recently to celebrate their $25,000 Communities at Play grant!
As a 2026 recipient of the Sandbox Communities at Play program, Oak Bluff School in Manitoba is bringing its vision for a better play space one step closer to reality. This grant supports projects that help create more opportunities for children to play, connect, and feel included in their communities.

🟠 Today, Sandbox recognizes the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a day to honour residential school Survivors, and acknowledge the lasting impacts of the residential school system on Indigenous families and communities in Canada.

In observance of the day, the Sandbox office is closed on September 30th.

As part of Truth and Reconciliation Week, our team participated in a series of Lunch & Learns through the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation at the University of Manitoba, creating opportunities to deepen our understanding of the history and ongoing effects of residential schools.

In recognition of the date, Sandbox is also donating $1,000 to the Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund (DWF), an Indigenous-led organization focused on education, awareness and action toward reconciliation.

This fund reaches communities across Canada, including Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Alberta and British Columbia, helping students and educators learn about residential schools, Indigenous history and reconciliation.

Today, our team wears orange in solidarity with Survivors, their families, and Indigenous communities. 🧡

This month, Sandbox was a sponsor to the Go Baby Go program with Variety – the Children’s Charity of Alberta.

Go Baby Go provides customized ride-on vehicles that give children with mobility challenges greater independence, confidence, and opportunities to play and connect with others.

Our team had the opportunity to help build an adapted ride-on vehicle and present it to the child and family who received it! It was a great experience to support independence, freedom, and play for kids with mobility limitations.

Sandbox hit the pavement for the 2026 Colliers Cup Street Hockey Tournament! 🏒

With two teams in the mix, we had a great day of friendly competition, teamwork and plenty of fun. This year’s Colliers Cup events raised $82,000 for Saskatoon’s Haven Kids’ House. ❤️

It was a great day for a great cause, and we’re already looking forward to next year!
