Considering direct private mortgage investing?
One phrase you may hear is:
“Registered on title.”
In a direct mortgage structure, the mortgage is registered against the property and the lender’s interest forms part of the land-title record.
That is an important part of understanding how the mortgage is structured.
But registration does not mean an investment is risk-free or that repayment is guaranteed.
An informed investor should still understand:

• mortgage position
• amount advanced
• borrower circumstances
• repayment plan
• risks associated with the specific mortgage

Bank declined your mortgage?
