5 Million+

In todays world with literacy under attack from youtube and AI I was surprised to learn this fact. (I knew she did this, I didn't realize it included Canada)

5 million+ - The number of books mailed over the past 20 years to Canadian children through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, a non-profit that gives away free books to children five and younger. Parton died at the age of 80 on Tuesday.

Which brings to mind the saying: Not all heroes where capes

Since the GENIUS Act created a U.S. regulatory framework for stablecoins, debate has centered on whether digital assets can pay interest. We believe that misses the bigger story: the potentially revolutionary nature of tokenization.

Thinking of everyone affected by the wildfires, especially the communities across British Columbia facing evacuations and uncertainty right now. Our thoughts are with those displaced from their homes and the first responders working tirelessly to keep people safe.

At RBC Wealth Management, supporting resilient communities is core to how we work. We are contributing directly to relief efforts in the impacted communities in British Columbia, and our employee donation matching program amplifies the impact we can make together when communities need it most.

RBC also recently renewed its support for The Canadian Red Cross to help them better prepare for and respond to disasters across Canada.

As conditions evolve, we remain committed to standing with these communities through immediate relief and long-term recovery.

I saw this stat was worth sharing

AI is always confident and often wrong: When asked 100 questions about personal finance topics, AI answered correctly 56% of the time, was deceptive or misleading 27% of the time, and was outright wrong 17% of the time. However, only 9% of Americans report getting incorrect information from an AI chatbot. This implies that more than a third are receiving wrong or misleading advice without realizing it. Also worth noting: Unlike a traditional adviser, AI doesn’t have a fiduciary duty to act in your best interest.

It doesn't surprise me, though does make me nervous that people are going to do things that hurt them financially while thinking they are doing the right thing.

Our head of Fixed Income Strategy at RBC Dominion Securities, Luis Castillo, recently sat down with macro strategist Jim Bianco to talk inflation. Jim’s take? We've entered a structurally higher inflation environment driven by deglobalization, the shift to remote work, and the massive resource demands of AI infrastructure.

Watch the conversation to hear why he believes core inflation staying above 3% isn't a blip, but a new reality we need to plan around.

And if you want to hear what else the two discussed, reach out and I’d be happy share more about their conversation.
