We’ve recently updated our digital banking experience with new apps, online banking and website—as well as refreshing our brand. During this time, we encourage you to be extra vigilant for potential scams and imposters. Watch out for calls, emails and texts with messages like:

📞 “We noticed an issue — click now!”
📧 “Do you need help logging in? We need your username and password."
💬 “We’re your new support team, enter your information so we can help you.”

Our Envision Financial advisors will never contact you using messages like that—messages that sound urgent, offer unsolicited help, include warnings, or ask for login or account credentials, like passwords and usernames.

We also don’t ask you for a One-Time-Passcode unless verifying a call you’ve started to our Member Advice Centre.

If a call, email or text feels even a little off, don’t engage. Instead, contact us using our published phone number 1-888-597-6083 or visit a branch to verify the message with an advisor.

We’re excited to share that as of today we are officially a federally regulated credit union! This achievement marks a historic milestone in our evolution as a member owned cooperative, combining the local touch of your credit union with the national resources of our collective.

Your everyday experience as an Envision Financial member remains the same. Banking that’s built on community, powered by cooperation, and rooted in your local brand–which is now a division of Tru Cooperative Bank (our new legal name, formerly First West Credit Union).

On this significant day, Launi Skinner, CEO of Tru Cooperative Bank shares: "Canadians shouldn’t have to choose between scale and service, or digital convenience and personalized advice that’s truly in their interest. Becoming federally regulated is about being ready for what our members need next. We can deliver the stability and sophistication Canadians expect from a leading bank, while deepening the personalized advice, local decision‑making and member‑first focus that define our cooperative.”

Have you taught your kids these lessons about money? While spending and saving are essential life skills, so are the habits that help protect your money. Scammers will target people of any age, so during March, Fraud Prevention Month, teach your children this simple scam checklist:

1️⃣ Who is this really?
2️⃣ Why are they contacting me?
3️⃣ Are they rushing me?
4️⃣ Are they asking for personal info or money?
5️⃣ Have I checked with a trusted adult?

If they’re unsure of or uncomfortable about any answer above, they should stop and ask for help making a decision.

Money confidence includes knowing how to protect what you earn. The earlier kids learn this, the safer they’ll be for life, and we can help you have this conversation. Make time to talk with one of our advisors for more tips that can keep your family safe from fraud.
