As Christmas approaches I began to think about what to get the people in my life. As I was talking to one of my friends she asked what I want for Christmas. The only thing I want (need actually) is a the lifesaving gift of a KIDNEY.

Please get tested tested to determine if you can donate to the Kidney Pairing Program. This would ensure that I get the very next kidney that matches me and then fingers crossed, a year from the transplant I can finally go on my honeymoon to Scotland!

Consider these facts:
1. You don’t have to be “a match” to save my life through the KDP program heck, you don’t even have to know me!!
2. You can get most of the testing done in 1 day and the surgery date would be planned with lots of notice
3. The risk to the donor is minimal
4. There is no need for you to experience any negative financial impact
5. Recovery may take up to 8 weeks
6. You do not need to be in perfect health, just no diabetes or cancer in the past two years
7. Please don’t assume that someone else will step up…it has been two years since I asked for donors…and I am still searching.
8. I am not given any information about applications. All potential donor information is deliberately kept separate from the recipient information. It is 100% confidential, guaranteed.
9. Getting tested isn’t a commitment. If you are willing to get tested you will be given the results and asked if you wish to proceed with donation.
10. I am not asking for fun. I am looking for a hero…someone willing to give the gift of life.

LIFE INSURANCE IS NOT FOR YOU! IT'S FOR THOSE YOU LEAVE BEHIND.

These are some of the most common myths surrounding life insurance, and are some of the things that are stigmatized from outsiders of the industry. But the fact is that myths are often disproven.
#1 Cost: While some life insurance policies do cost a lot, a policy from AIL will work with the budget you have. Insurance cost is based on health, age and habits. 2/3 of those factors are not really in your control, sooner is better than later.
#2 Health: No one in the world is in absolutely perfect health. We work with you to get approved and to get you and your family protected. You will never be younger or healthier than you are today!
#3 Application process: the application process is actually very simple and usually takes less than 20 minutes. All we need is some basic information. I am also an expert at filling it out to make it as easy as possible.
#4 Age: this one actually applies to everyone, not just young people. Taking a policy out at a young age is actually better as you're usually healthier, and the sooner you get it and get protected, the less stress you will have to deal with later in life. Also when we are younger we get more coverage at a lower cost. You will never be as young as you are right now
#5 Work/Group policies: I see a lot of people who think their work coverage continues into retirement. The reality is when you leave your job, whether through retirement or being laid off, or finding a new job, all of the benefits you had are usually gone and will not go with you. That's why people take private plans out. Additionally, our benefits work WITH the plans you many have through your employer.
