Back-to-school season can make the roads feel a little more rushed. More cars. More pedestrians. More school buses. More people trying to get everyone where they need to be on time.

But what if one of the easiest ways to make your commute feel better started with a little more kindness?

Let someone merge. Slow down near crosswalks. Give school buses the space they need. Take a breath when traffic is moving more slowly than usual. These choices can help keep the road safer, but they can also help you arrive feeling a little less stressed.

A few simple happiness tricks can help, too:

🎶 Put on a playlist, podcast or audiobook you genuinely enjoy.
☕ Leave a few minutes earlier when you can, so every red light does not feel personal.
😌 Take one deep breath before reacting to a frustrating moment.
👋 Notice the small wins, like someone letting you in or giving a friendly wave.

You may not be able to control traffic, but you can choose how you move through it.

Because a little patience and courtesy can make the morning feel calmer for everyone, including you. 💙

Working hard and playing hard go hand in hand for me. This summer was full of fun and sun (hopefully enough to last me through our gruelling winters).

Here’s a few of my favourite moments this summer, I can’t believe it’s almost over.

Although, now that most of us are back to our regularly scheduled programming, have YOU done an insurance review lately? If not, reach out to see if you have the best coverages and prices 😉

Bikes, scooters and other electric vehicles are becoming increasingly popular among kids and teens. To make sure the fun continues safely, a few simple habits can make all the difference:

• Always wear a properly fitted helmet (even for short rides)
• Follow speed limits and adjust speed based on the surroundings
• Stay focused on the road and avoid distractions like phones or headphones
• Learn how to brake properly and slow down at intersections
• Make sure you are visible, especially at night, with reflective gear or lights
• Supervise younger riders and review safety rules before their first rides

A little prevention today can help prevent accidents tomorrow. 🚲

A little preparation can be an act of care for your home, your belongings and the people you share them with.

Flood prevention may not be the most exciting item on a weekend to-do list, but a few simple steps today can help make a stressful situation easier to manage later.

Show your basement a little extra love by:

• Raising appliances, electronics and valuables off the floor
• Storing important belongings in sealed plastic bins instead of cardboard boxes
• Choosing water-resistant materials for cabinets, flooring and finishes
• Installing leak detectors and maintaining your sump pump, ideally with a battery backup
• Sealing cracks in walls, floors and around windows
• Making sure water drains away from your foundation through gutters and proper grading
• Reviewing what your insurance policy covers, and what it does not
• Creating an emergency plan and documenting important belongings

You cannot control the weather. But taking care of the little things now can help protect the people, spaces and memories that matter most later.

Got a road trip planned before the summer ends? 🚗☀️

Before you hit the road, take a few minutes to make sure your vehicle is ready for the journey ahead.

✔️ Check your tire pressure and tread
✔️ Top up essential fluids, including oil, coolant and windshield washer fluid
✔️ Test your headlights, brake lights and turn signals
✔️ Make sure your spare tire and emergency kit are ready to go
✔️ Check your brakes, battery and wipers
✔️ Plan your route and take a look at the forecast before you leave

A little preparation can help make your drive safer, smoother and more enjoyable.

Wherever the road takes you, drive safe and enjoy the ride.
