The library is a free resource right in our community and a great way to introduce kids to the basics of borrowing and responsibility.

Let them pick out their own books, games or movies. Have them take care of what they borrow and help you return it on time.

And here’s the part many parents don’t know: unpaid library fees can potentially be sent to collections and appear on a credit report.

It’s a simple, everyday example of how being responsible with what you borrow can become a positive financial habit.

Good credit habits can start long before their first credit card — sometimes with their first library card.🏡💳

I had the opportunity to present on reverse mortgages and how homeowners can access the equity they’ve built in their homes— and I’m so excited to see that conversation being shared!

There are so many misconceptions around reverse mortgages, and I believe education is the first step in helping people make informed decisions about their financial future.

One of the topics we discussed? The fact that reverse mortgage proceeds are generally tax-free because they are loan proceeds, not income.
