✨ The KCCU team had an amazing time Friday evening at the Almost Home Kingston Charity Gala!✨

With a “Canada Beyond the Red & White” theme, everything from the décor, the entertainment and of course the incredible guest outfits, it perfectly captured the spirit of Canadian pride. 🍁

It was great to see our community come together in support of Almost Home, an organization that provides comfort and care for families with children receiving treatment at Kingston General Hospital. ❤️

Kingston Police Warn Public About “Fake Bank Investigator” Scams

Kingston Police are warning residents about an increase in sophisticated scams involving scammers posing as bank investigators or financial institution security staff. Scammers are using spoofed phone numbers that appear legitimate, making it look like the call is coming directly from your bank or credit union.

Victims are told there has been suspicious activity on their account and are pressured into providing sensitive information such as passwords, security codes, or banking details. In some cases, scammers direct victims to click malicious links sent by text message or email. In other instances, scammers convince victims to install software or mobile applications that give scammers remote access to their phone or computer.

Once access is gained, scammers can monitor banking activity, steal personal information, and send unauthorized e-transfers resulting in significant financial losses.

Protect Yourself:

• Never provide passwords or verification codes over the phone
• Do not click suspicious links in texts or emails
• Never install software at the request of an unsolicited caller
• Hang up and contact your bank directly using the number on your bank card or official website

Police remind the public that legitimate financial institutions will never ask for remote access to your device or request confidential banking credentials by phone, text, or email.
