We change our shoes for the weather… 👟❄️☀️

Why not do the same for our vehicles?

As we transition from winter to spring, it’s time to take the right steps:

✔️ Tires: Wait until temperatures consistently stay above 7°C before switching from winter to summer tires.
✔️ Motorcycle: As tempting as it is, wait until roads are completely clear. There may still be snow, gravel, and leftover road salt or debris. Safety first!
✔️ RV or classic car (bringing it out of storage):
• Check the battery
• Inspect brakes and fluid levels
• Examine tires for pressure and cracks
• Give it a thorough interior and exterior clean
• Make sure registration and insurance are up to date

Every season comes with its own checklist. Taking a few smart steps now can help prevent costly surprises later.

Ready to get your vehicle warm-weather-ready?

🛡️ March is Fraud Prevention Month. It’s the perfect time to take a few minutes to protect your personal information.

Fraud and phishing can take many forms: emails, phone calls, text messages, or social media messages designed to obtain your passwords, credit card numbers, or other sensitive information. Scammers often rely on urgency and confusion to pressure you into acting quickly.

👀 Watch for these warning signs:
• Messages demanding immediate action
• Requests for personal information by email, text, or phone
• Suspicious links or unusual website addresses
• Unexpected attachments

🔐 A few simple habits can make a big difference:
• Use strong, unique passwords (and enable two-factor authentication when possible)
• Regularly monitor your bank accounts and statements
• Avoid sensitive transactions on public Wi-Fi networks
• Always verify the authenticity of a call or message
• Shred documents containing personal information

If you believe you’ve been targeted by fraud, act quickly: contact your financial institutions, change your passwords, and report the incident to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre. Depending on your coverage, your Allstate insurance may also be there to support you.

Prevention starts with awareness. Stay informed and protect what matters most.

Do you own an electric vehicle? Winter driving comes with a few important considerations.

Here are 5 things you should know about electric vehicles in winter:

1️⃣ Range drops in cold weather
Studies show that at -7°C, an EV can lose 20–30% of its driving range.

2️⃣ Precondition your vehicle
Preheat your car while it’s still plugged in to help preserve range.

3️⃣ Use efficient heating
Use heated seats and steering wheel features instead of full cabin heat to save battery.

4️⃣ Check your tire pressure
Cold weather lowers tire pressure, increasing energy use and reducing efficiency.

5️⃣ Make sure your EV is properly insured for winter
Contact Allstate Insurance for more information.

Stay winter-ready and drive electric with confidence ❄️⚡

Insurance isn’t the most romantic topic… but it’s a really important one.
Here are insurance details you should actually talk about with your partner:

✔️ What insurance each of you already has
✔️ What’s covered… and what isn’t
✔️ Who’s listed on policies (and who should be)
✔️ How deductibles and coverage limits work
✔️ What happens financially if one of you gets sick, injured or can’t work
✔️ What you’d want protected if life changes
✔️ How insurance fits into your shared budget
✔️ When you plan to review or update coverage together

Not exactly pillow talk, but definitely part of building something solid.

Open conversations = stronger partnerships.💙
