Driving Record
Insurance companies use your driving record to determine how much of a risk you pose on the road. Generally, the better your driving record, the lower your insurance rate.

For example, a driver with at-fault accidents poses a higher risk to an insurance company. Your rate may also increase if you have more than one traffic conviction in the last three years, such as speeding or careless driving.

When looking at your driving record, insurance companies consider:

The number of years you have been licensed.
The number of traffic convictions due to driving infractions, such as speeding tickets.
The number of accidents you have had.
If you have taken driver training.

Level of coverage. The Grid offers third-party liability limits up to $2,000,000; any additional limits above this amount must be obtained through an or ;
Where you live;
– this is the date you initially received your class 5 driver's license;
– the total number of months that a driver's licensed has been suspended, cancelled or revoked within the past 15 years;
The number of in the last six years and of that number, how many occurred in the last three years ();
The number of driving convictions, which include and in the last three years and in the previous four years ().
The calculation is based on the actual information that has been entered; incorrect information will result in an inaccurate Grid step and resulting premium being displayed. The calculator results can only be considered as a reference. You should ask your insurance provider for your current Grid step as it might be affected by claims that occurred more than fifteen (15) years ago, which would result in a different Grid step than would be developed by the calculator.
