Although not related to rental properties like we usually post, we couldn’t help but share this. It’s great to see the government removing barriers to support smaller businesses, especially when it also supports more environmentally friendly, locally sourced consumer habits.

The province is making changes its regulations so consumers can buy individual animals from ranchers and have the meat processed on site.

What a week! We want to say thank you to all of the property managers and maintenance workers out there who are helping to keep the lights on and provide Albertans a safe place to live. Our team has been working exceptionally hard this month trying to adapt our business to the “new normal” so that we can provide safe, socially-distanced showings for new tenants and complete critical maintenance in buildings safely, without endangering tenants or staff. Thank you - you are unsung heroes!

This is a significant change in legislation and important information for anyone that owns in a condo corporation. Rising insurance deductibles on top of massive increases to insurance premiums are an unfortunate reality in Alberta these days. It pays to shop for your policy: we’ve seen offers for insurance coverage differ by more than 200% between insurers for comparable coverage! Don’t just accept your renewal, actively look for coverage that meets your needs at competitive rates.

New rules that came into effect at the beginning of the year mean Alberta condo owners could be on the hook for upwards of $50,000 if damage is caused within their unit.
