A lot of people are confused right now about the mortgage deferral process. Please message, email ([email protected]) or call me (403 612 2272) and I will be happy to assist the best that I can. Please note that every financial institution will have their own policy but it basically is summed this way:
1. Mortgage deferrals does not mean that you don't have to pay back those payments.
2. Those payments will get spread out over the remainder of the term (or amortization) of your mortgage.
3. Interest is still accrued on all those payments and also has to be paid back. This amount is likely not as high as you think given the current mortgage rates out there for most people.
