Couple weeks ago there was an explosion that happened in the Northeast area of Calgary which caused fire that resulted in 4 homes being destroyed and 6 people in the hospital. ๐
This incident definitely affected the residents in the community in a negative light. ๐
CFD and CPD were fast in responding to the site, so salute to the heroes. ๐ง๐ปโ๐๐ฎ๐ปโโ๏ธ
Seeing everything happen in person and in the news broke my heart thinking of the people being affected by this tragedy, especially the families living in the compound.
After everything that happened, I wanted to do something that could cheer the residents even in the simplest way and see how everyone was doing.
So, for thanksgiving I decided to go around the neighborhood with my nephews and niece and check on everybody. ๐๐จ๐ฆ
It felt so good to connect with the residents and see how everyone was doing well even after the incident that theyโve witnessed.
We went around the compound and chatted with the residents and gave out thanksgiving goodie bags for the kids, my nephews and niece got to see some of their friends and met new ones. ๐
This whole experience definitely made me realize that anything could happen in a blink of an eye and has taught me the importance of being connected to our communities and valuing community relationships, that when life gets a little bit rocky, we have people we can hold on to.
Stay safe everyone. ๐
