A good friend and client's LIRA personal rate of return. Interesting question though... can a LIRA be converted to an RRSP ? Yes. The process is converting the LIRA into a LIF then depositing into the RRSP account. However, only 50% can be deposited into an RRSP and the other 50% remains as a LIF. Money in LIF as a min and max % to withdraw. Withdrawals are taxable. It is good decision, when withdrawing in registered accounts, you now belong to a lower if not the lowest tax bracket. Good returns by the way.
