One Conversation Changed My Perspective

I once had a conversation with a fellow professional.

Brilliant in his field.
Stable career.
Good income.

But as our conversation went deeper, one thing stood out: there was no real plan to protect that income or manage the financial risks that life can bring.

It made me think about something we understand very well in engineering:

We identify risks before they become problems.

We assess what could go wrong, consider the potential impact, and put safeguards in place.

So why should our financial lives be any different?

That conversation reinforced one of the reasons I became interested in life insurance and financial protection—not because finance is trendy, but because risk is real, and preparation matters.

As an engineer, I have learned that good risk management is not about expecting the worst. It is about being prepared so that when the unexpected happens, the things and people that matter most are better protected.

Your ability to earn an income is an asset.
Your family’s financial security matters.
And sometimes, one conversation is all it takes to start thinking differently.

Do you feel you have the right protection in place?

If you’re not sure, feel free to send me a DM. I’d be happy to have a conversation—no pressure, just an opportunity to explore the options available to you.

Which would you rather have?
• A) A 20-year term plan that covers your mortgage and income
• B) A savings account with 6 months of expenses

The true question isn't whether savings or life insurance is more important.

It's understanding that they solve two completely different problems.

Savings help you handle today's surprises. Life insurance protects the people who depend on you if tomorrow doesn't go as planned.

Financial security isn't about picking one; it's about having the right balance.

I didn't grow up dreaming about life insurance.
But over time, I realized that this job isn't really about policies or paperwork. It's about helping people prepare for moments none of us can predict.

The greatest value of life insurance is that you hope it's never needed. Yet when it is, it can make all the difference for the people left to carry on.

That's why I believe these conversations matter. Not because they're easy, but because they're important.

If protecting your family's future has been on your mind, let's have a conversation.

Most Canadians have heard of term life insurance, but very few can explain what it actually does.

𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝗮 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗻-𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻:
• Term life = coverage for a specific period (10, 20, or 30 years)
• If you pass away during the term, your family receives a tax-free lump sum
• No investment component. Just pure protection
• Usually the most affordable coverage for young families

One can get as low as 10, 20, 30 dollars monthly premium depending on age, s*x and health status. Think of it like renting protection for the years your family needs it most.

If your kids are young, you have a mortgage, or your partner depends on your income, term life is likely the most important financial tool you're not using.

Would you like to see what your coverage options look like? Drop a comment or send me a DM.

𝗤𝘂𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆:

Do you currently have life insurance?
A) Yes: through work
B) Yes: I have my own policy
C) No: but I've been thinking about it
D) No: and I'm not sure I need it

No judgment here! I ask because most Canadians are either underinsured or unsure what they have. Drop your answer below and I'll share some insights this week.

As an engineer, one thing has always been clear to me:

✔️ You don't wait for a system to fail before thinking about safety.
✔️ You identify risks before they become problems.
✔️ You design for worst-case scenarios.
✔️ You build with margins for uncertainty.

Recently, I realized that many professionals approach their finances differently.

Too often, financial planning is built around the best-case scenario:
• What if everything goes according to plan?
• What if nothing unexpected happens?

But life doesn't always follow the plan.

As both an Engineer and a Licensed Life Insurance Advisor, I approach financial protection the same way I approach engineering projects:

🔹 Identify the risks.
🔹 Strengthen the weak points.
🔹 Build resilience.
🔹 Protect what matters most.
🔹 Plan for long-term stability.

Because in engineering and in life, failure can be costly.

Planning ahead isn't.

If you're ready to protect your family's financial future and build a stronger financial foundation, let's connect.
