The lowest mortgage rate isn’t always the cheapest mortgage.
I know… that sounds backwards. 😅
When you’re shopping for a mortgage, it’s completely natural to ask, “What’s your lowest rate?”
But here’s the question I think we should be asking instead:
What is this mortgage actually going to cost me and does it fit my life?
A lower rate can look great on paper, but what about:
🏡 Prepayment options
🏡 Penalties if you need to break the mortgage
🏡 Portability if you move
🏡 Refinancing restrictions
🏡 Flexibility if life changes
Because let’s be honest… life has a funny way of changing our plans.
My job isn’t simply to find you a rate.
It’s to help you understand the mortgage attached to that rate and make sure it makes sense for you.
Homes are personal. Your mortgage should be too. 💙
Have you ever chosen a mortgage based mainly on the rate? No judgment, I genuinely want to know!
