Your Retirement Plan Has Names.
Your children.

Ask yourself if that's a plan or a burden you are wrapping as love.
Plan for your retirement. Donโ€™t make your children the plan.

"My work insurance is enough."
That's one of the most common and most expensive myths.

Here's the reality:
Your workplace insurance is tied to your employer. If you lose your job or change employers, you'll most likely lose your coverage too. The problem? Years later, when you decide to get your own policy, you'll be older, premiums may be higher, and qualifying for coverage may not be as easy.

Work insurance is a great benefit, but it shouldn't be your entire plan.

Not sure if your workplace coverage is enough? Send me a DM, and I'll help you understand what you have and where the gaps might be.

Insurance isn't about expecting the worst.

It's about making sure one unexpected moment doesn't undo years of hard work. Most families spend months planning for a new home, a new baby, vacations, retirement, and education. Very few plan for what happens if a serious illness or unexpected event suddenly affects their income.

The goal isn't to live in fear.
The goal is to make sure your family has options when life doesn't go according to plan.

If you're a homeowner or raising a family in Canada, this is a conversation you should have.

Which would you rather have?
โ€ข A) A 20-year term plan that covers your mortgage and income
โ€ข B) A savings account with 6 months of expenses

You don't have to choose between protecting your future and preparing for emergencies.

A healthy savings account helps when life gets expensive. Life insurance helps when life takes an unexpected turn. One isn't a replacement for the otherโ€”they're designed to work together.

The strongest financial plans make room for both.

I didn't grow up dreaming about insurance.
But then I watched a family I knew face the worst year of their lives, and come out okay financially, because they had a plan. And I watched another family navigate the same situation without one.

The difference wasn't luck. It was one conversation they'd had a few years earlier.

If you've been thinking about protecting your family's future but haven't known where to start, my inbox is always open. Let's have a conversation.

Today we celebrate the men whose love shows up in countless ways; through guidance, sacrifice, protection, and unwavering support.

As a father, you are helping build a future your family can count on. The decisions you make today create a lasting foundation of security and care for the people you love most.

Thank you for trusting me to be part of that journey.

May your Fatherโ€™s Day be filled with laughter, love, and the appreciation you so richly deserve.

5 things Canadians get wrong about life insurance, and what you actually need to know:

1. "My work coverage is enough."
2. "I'm young, I don't need it."
3. "It's too expensive.
4. "My spouse doesn't work, so they don't need coverage."
5. "I'll deal with it later."

Which one surprised you most?

A) Yes: through work
B) Yes: I have my own policy
C) No: but I've been thinking about it
D) No: and I'm not sure I need it

No judgment here! I ask because most Canadians are either underinsured or unsure what they have. Drop your answer below and I'll share some insights this week.

Most Canadians have heard of term life insurance, but very few can explain what it actually does.

Here's a plain-English breakdown:
โ€ข Term life = coverage for a specific period (10, 20, or 30 years)
โ€ข If you pass away during the term, your family receives a tax-free lump sum
โ€ข No investment component. Just pure protection
โ€ข Usually the most affordable coverage for young families

One can get as low as 10, 20, 30 dollars monthly premium depending on age, s*x and health status. Think of it like renting protection for the years your family needs it most.

If your kids are young, you have a mortgage, or your partner depends on your income, term life is likely the most important financial tool you're not using.
