So far, the Bank of Canada raised its lending overnight rate by a total of 0.75% in 2023. Will they hold its rate on December 6th?

Now, the Bank of Canada is projecting the target inflation rate of 2% in 2025 instead of 2024. This means that higher rates are here to stay for longer.

Marc Miller, the minister of immigration, has stated that he is reluctant to cut immigration goals due to urgent need.

The Bank Of Canada left their overnight lending rate UNCHANGED at 4.50%
This is good news if you have a Variable Rate mortgage or a Line of Credit (HELOC) 👌💯
The Bank of Canada is still maintaining its prediction that inflation will be under control later this year and into 2024. 😉

The Bank Of Canada held their overnight rate at 4.50% on March 8th leaving the Prime Rate at 6.70%

It's lending rate was at 0.25% for 2 years (26-Mar-2020 to 2-Mar-2022). Then from that date they raised its lending rate 8 consecutive times in just 1 year.

2023 is a year of "pause & wait" with a hint of a possible rate increase later. 🤔
