So I got the call this morning that nobody wants to get, our shop was broken into.
Of course you always think the worst, and that your life is now destroyed. Shaking, angry, just trying to get there to find out just how bad it is.
We have some big shows coming up, and the timing of all of this couldn’t have been worse.
My neighbour had footage, and he forwarded it to me, which showed a man and a women, loading out our gear through our back door.
Cops came, took the statement, but as is usually typical, there’s not much they can do.
However, a couple of hours later, I was checking on an iMac that I knew they had stolen, and noticed that an iPad had pinged at 5:57am, at which point I realized that they took all of our iPads and phones (ones we use for some of our setups). So now I had the address of where they took the stuff. I called back to 911, and they asked if I could meet an officer there. I waited for over an hour, at which point I took a drive behind the house, and found a vehicle blocking a garage. Now I have a license plate number as well. Even with all of this information, there is almost nothing that the police can do. I get it, it’s not their fault, but it’s still frustrating. We know the house, we know the people, and all that needs to be done, is for them to go in and get it.
I know it’s just stuff, but we were also informed that insurance will not be covering this.
So I’m putting this out there for you guys to keep a look out for us.
Some of the distinguishing items:
2 iPad minis, that have engraving on the back, To Logan, love Mom and Dad, and To Kenzie, love Mom & Dad.
They took 6 X Beyerdynamic intercom headsets, with 4 pin XLRF connectors.
They carried out the items in an Ultimate Support Systems keyboard bag, as well as a DB Technologies speaker bag.
They took computers, iMac, MacBook Pro and possibly Mac Minis (forgot to check), TV’s, power tools (Dewalt and Milwaukee) with lots of batteries, touchscreen monitors, tablets, iPads, and iPhones. They also got my 30 pin iPod touch (grr).
We have serial numbers for many of these items, but I won’t post them here. Contact me if you need them.
Please feel free to share, the more eyes we have out there, the better our chances of getting these guys.

This past weekend, we got to once again be part of a show, Draw Near. We have had the opportunity to work with them for a very long time now, and they never disappoint.
It was made even better, by having the show at , another client of ours for over 20 years.
Sunwest moved into this building almost 4 years ago now, and we’ve been working very hard to get it looking great. It already is one of the best sounding systems that we’ve done, and had we not installed the system they already had from their other location, I’m not even sure we would have changed anything.
The system consists of:
GLD-80, AR2412, ME-1
DVX D15 HP in a LCR configuration, DVA S30
EW100 G4 wireless handhelds, EW300 wireless in ear monitors
2000 series wireless handhelds, and of course the ATH-M50’s!

We had the opportunity to support last week for their Top 12 showcases.
Had an amazing time working with the best talents in Alberta.
On the sound side, we used the Waves LV1 Emotion mixer for flawless sound, mixing 34 channels of audio, and 6 stereo channels of in-ears, with 5 mixes of supplied wedges on the monitor side. It never broke a sweat. The house Yamaha console TF-5 was used for FOH.
We used the always rock solid EW100 series for our wireless vocal mics, with the EW300 doing duties for the wireless in ear mixes.
Audix i5’s doing duties on the snares, and all the rest of the instrument and drum mics were Sennheiser with overhead and hi-hat AT4040’s.
For keys who really can’t move around much, we relied on the Fischer in-ear stick as a wired stereo mix.
An Allen & Heath Zed6 anchored the drum mixer, allowing them to control a self click channel if needed, along with the stereo monitor feed from the console.
All Radial DI boxes.
Because we had a live MD talkback mic on stage, the only option was a sE V7 which has a supercardioid pattern to keep out all of the stage bleed. sE microphones are very quickly becoming some of our favorite. Stay tuned for more on that.









On the lighting side, we supplied a mixture of Chauvet, Blizzard, and Mega-Lite fixtures, along with supplying some of their ADJ fixtures and an Onyx console with a node for control.

We are excited to finally have a replacement for the aging SLX series. This refresh of the line to Shure’s digital side will be a huge upgrade. Looking forward to seeing these soon.

To safely adhere to AHS standards, we were able to supply Clearsonic’s Flector 12 shields for the singers on stage this morning.
The shields attach to any mic stand, and provide a solid surface between the singer and their audience.
We are current sold out, but contact us to get your name on the list for the next shipment.

We were so proud to be part of this play with The cast did amazing, and the tech crew did a fantastic job, even with having to make some big changes with just over 24 hours till Show 1.
Coincidentally, the show this year opened exactly 7 years to the day that Cinderella Enchanted did, the second play that we worked on with this school, and this was the first musical since.
Already looking forward to next year.

We had lots of fun and challenges on this install, but super pleased with how it turned out.
Congrats to on your grand opening today.
So much back story, but we have been somewhat involved with both of the churches that came together to become Journey church, for over 20 years. It’s very neat to see what it has become.
