A Heartfelt Thank You to Murray Bruce

After decades of dedication, leadership, and integrity, Murray Bruce has officially closed a remarkable chapter with the sale of Bruce Insurance to the Steadfast Group.

As we reflect on this moment, we want to express our deepest gratitude for everything Murray has given, not just to the business, but to the people, clients, and community who have been part of the journey.

From the very beginning, Murray led with purpose. He brought more than 25 years of insurance experience into the founding of Bruce Insurance in 2005, building on the legacy of Stan Bruce before him. What began as a continuation of a trusted family business grew under Murray’s guidance into one of Perth’s most respected insurance brokerages, offering tailored solutions, trusted advice, and an unwavering commitment to putting clients first.

Murray was never just a name on the door. He was the heartbeat of the business. His calm leadership, strategic thinking, and eye for quality shaped every part of the firm, from the selection of industry-specialised account managers to forging a strong alliance with the Steadfast Group, giving clients the rare advantage of boutique service with big-business reach.

He has always championed professionalism, holding qualifications including a Diploma in Financial Services, CIP, and QPIB, and serving as a Responsible Officer under Bruce Insurance’s AFSL. But more than credentials, it was his integrity and vision that inspired those around him.

To many of us, Murray wasn’t just a Managing Director, he was a mentor, a colleague, and a friend. His passion extended well beyond insurance. Whether sharing lessons from his triathlon training or proudly competing in numerous Ironman Competitions; notably completing the 2022 Hawaiian Ironman World Championship in Kona and the 2023 70.3 World Ironman Championship in Lahti Finland, Murray reminded us what it means to pursue your goals with discipline and humility.

Through changing markets and evolving client needs, Murray never lost sight of what mattered most: people. His belief in open, honest conversations with clients and his respect for team development built a culture that truly reflected the values he lived every day.

As Murray now steps into the next phase of life, we celebrate not just a business transition, but the lasting impact of a career lived with excellence, service, and purpose.

Thank you, Murray.

Thank you for building more than a business, for building a legacy.
We wish you all the best for whatever comes next. You've more than earned it.

Warm regards,

The Bruce Insurance Team
& the countless clients and colleagues you've inspired

The lads may not have snapped many photos, but Bruce's Angels certainly knew when to make an entrance!

In all seriousness, our CEO, Chris, and Broking Manager, Paul, were both impressed and impressive at the 2025 Steadfast Convention in Melbourne last month.

They were especially moved by the Conference's Chosen Charity, Free 3D Hands. This remarkable company specializes in designing and manufacturing 3D-printed assistive devices. Check out more about their work at the link below:

A big thank you to Steadfast for supporting and showcasing such an incredible company and their important work. And a huge thanks to Chris and Paul for giving us this video... 😍

This article really hit home for us recently.. Pardon the pun.

On a recent Saturday afternoon, our Director, Murray Bruce and his wife, Kelly-Anne were on their way to a family function when a serious car accident occurred literally in front of them. It was a 2-vehicle collision, with major damage to both vehicles.

Within minutes of reporting the accident there were “towies” arriving at the scene – before police, before the emergency services – they were there in a flash!

Thankfully neither party was seriously hurt.

Luckily, they had insurance.

Their provider was contacted and informed of the situation, given the details of the attending towies, and gave approval for ONE of them to take the vehicle. THIS IS IMPORTANT.

The West Australian Government is in the process of reforming the tow truck industry and the DoT is developing a new regulatory strategy.

Please go to this website for further details:

Tow truck consumer advice (transport.wa.gov.au)

Towing costs are not legislated in Western Australia, like they are in the other states. You should always agree on a price before the tow truck driver commences loading your vehicle on their truck. Additionally, you don’t have to use the first tow truck that arrives at the scene.

No matter what the tow truck driver says, you have the right to choose.

Remember to get the tow truck driver’s name, phone number, the tow truck company name and location of where they will be taking your vehicle.

And most importantly
You should not enter into any agreement to be towed unless you have spoken to your insurer.

Making these decisions at a time of trauma is understandably difficult. If there is one thing to take away from this, it is to ensure that you have the contact details of your insurance company or broker in your phone.

Help is only a phone call away.
