🎄❤️ A Little Christmas Tradition, A Lot of Family Pride!

At Positive Dynamics Wealth Management, some traditions are simply too special to change.

For 20 years, we’ve believed that building strong relationships with our clients goes well beyond financial advice. It’s about the personal touches, the genuine connections and taking the time to show our appreciation.

One of our favourite traditions is sending handwritten Christmas cards to our clients each year. In a world where almost everything has become digital, we still believe there’s something special about receiving a card with a personal message. ✨

And this year, we have a very special little helper!

Meet Finlay Jansen, Dane & Vanessa Jansen’s daughter, who has been spending time in the office outside school hours, helping us prepare our Christmas cards.

As Finlay approaches the end of her high school years, she’s already showing a keen interest in following in her parents’ footsteps and pursuing a career in financial planning.

For Vanessa and Dane, after 20 years of building Positive Dynamics, there’s something incredibly rewarding about seeing the next generation take an interest in the profession they love. 💙

We’re so grateful for Finlay’s help, her enthusiasm and the care she’s putting into this special tradition.

Because at Positive Dynamics, family values aren’t just something we talk about. They’re part of who we are, how we operate and the relationships we build with our clients.

🏢 COULD YOUR SUPER OWN YOUR BUSINESS PREMISES?

One of the best business decisions we ever made was purchasing our own office building.

During COVID, when the world was facing so much uncertainty, Dane and Vanessa Jansen made the decision to purchase the building that Positive Dynamics Wealth Management calls home today.

Looking back, it was one of the best decisions we could have made.

We purchased the property through a trust, not a Self-Managed Super Fund (SMSF), but it highlights something we are incredibly passionate about — understanding your options and making informed financial decisions that create long-term wealth.

For business owners, one option worth exploring is whether your superannuation could own the premises your business operates from.

Imagine your business paying rent towards building your retirement wealth, rather than paying rent to an unrelated landlord.

Under the right circumstances, an SMSF may be able to purchase commercial business premises and lease them back to your business at market rates.

There can be some attractive benefits, including:

🏢 Building wealth for retirement – Rental income received by your SMSF can help grow your retirement savings.

💰 Potential tax advantages – Rental income and capital gains within superannuation may benefit from concessional tax treatment.

🔑 Greater control – The opportunity to own a commercial property that supports both your business operations and long-term retirement strategy.

📈 Long-term asset ownership – Rather than paying rent to an unrelated property owner, your business may be contributing towards an asset held within your superannuation fund.

You don’t need to establish an SMSF simply because you want greater control over your superannuation.

There are other superannuation structures and investment platforms that may provide greater transparency, flexibility and investment choice, without the additional responsibilities and costs of managing your own fund.

🍣🍷 Good Company, Great Conversations & a Little Blast from the Past!

Dane and Vanessa had a wonderful evening catching up with familiar faces, meeting new people and enjoying some delicious sushi and w**e at the Gold Coast Corporate Rotary Sushi & W**e Night, hosted by Dan O’Connor from Bell Legal at their Bundall office.

One of the things we love most about being part of the Gold Coast business community is the opportunity to connect with such a great mix of people. From accountants and lawyers to HR professionals, insolvency specialists and fellow business owners, there’s always something to learn and plenty of great conversations to be had!

At Positive Dynamics Wealth Management, we really value these relationships. Having a strong network of trusted professionals means we can share ideas, support one another and, most importantly, help connect our clients with the right people when they need them.

And of course, it wasn’t all business! There was plenty of laughter, delicious food and one rather unexpected guest watching over the evening! 👀

Bell Legal is home to a rather impressive statue, reportedly gifted to the firm by Clive Palmer following Brisbane’s iconic World Expo ’88.

They say success is never achieved in isolation, and this week was a wonderful reminder of just how powerful it is to surround yourself with inspiring, forward-thinking people.

We had the pleasure of coming together with an incredible group of successful business owners, travelling from Toowoomba, Hamilton Island and Melbourne, alongside a few of us locals from the Gold Coast.

Different businesses, different experiences, but one shared ambition — to keep growing, challenging ourselves and creating an even brighter future for our businesses, our teams and, most importantly, our clients.

The conversations were inspiring, the ideas were flowing, and the collective knowledge and experience around the table were invaluable.

A big thank you to Carey Cam for visiting Positive Dynamics today and once again sharing his incredible photography skills with us.

Carey generously gave his time to update our team photos, and while he was here, we couldn’t resist turning the camera around and getting an action shot with the photographer himself!

We particularly love this photo of Carey with our founding directors, Dane & Vanessa Jansen, with the Positive Dynamics office—and one of Southport’s magnificent old fig trees—behind us.

There’s something quite fitting about that tree.

It has stood there for many years, growing from strong roots into something established, resilient and enduring. Its branches have continued to spread, its canopy has flourished, and with the right environment and nurturing, it will continue to grow for many years to come.

In many ways, wealth is much the same.

A strong financial future rarely happens overnight. It starts with solid foundations, then requires patience, good decisions, ongoing care and the right guidance along the way. Over time, those foundations can grow into something that provides security, opportunity and a legacy for the generations that follow.

As Positive Dynamics celebrates 20 years in 2026, that symbolism feels particularly meaningful to us. We’ve spent two decades helping our clients put down strong financial roots and build wealth designed to support the life they want to live—today and well into the future.

Success means more when you can use it to make a difference. 💙

What a fantastic night we had hosting the Gold Coast Corporate Rotary Winter Fundraiser BBQ in the Positive Dynamics courtyard!

With around 60 people joining us, it was a wonderful evening of business, friendship, great food and, most importantly, giving back to our local community.

Together, we were incredibly proud to raise and donate $2,000 to the Gold Coast Hospital Foundation, while also collecting a wonderful assortment of gifts for Friends with Dignity. Those gifts will go directly to mothers, fathers and children doing it tough and hopefully bring a little joy when it is needed most.

At Positive Dynamics Wealth Management, this sits very closely with what we believe.

We spend our days helping people build, protect and enjoy their wealth — but we also believe wealth should have purpose. It should give you the freedom to live well, support the people you love and, when you can, make a difference in the lives of others.

It’s a philosophy we try to live ourselves: enjoy the journey, give while you’re living and leave things a little better than you found them.

A huge congratulations to Damira Hidic, Partner at Australian Family Lawyers, who won our raffle prize — a Lady Elliot Island day trip for two! 🏝️
