👉 Not having a 20% deposit: Lenders know it’s tough to save these days, and there are plenty of ways to get into a home with less: low-deposit options, guarantors, or LMI can all help.

👉 Day-to-day spending: Grabbing a coffee, going out with the kids, treating yourself - these are seen as normal living costs. Lenders understand you need to spend to live. It's regular, more reckless spending that raises eyebrows.

👉 Changing jobs: Moved to a new company? Started a new full-time job? No problem. While lenders do prefer stability, as long as your work history makes sense and you’re not changing careers every few months, you’re good.

👉 Where your savings came from: Whether it’s from years of saving, a family gift, an inheritance, or your side business - as long as it’s traceable, lenders are happy.

💬The RBA has just announced that it will be raising the cash rate from 3.6% to 3.85%. So what happens now?

👉 Most, if not all, lenders will increase their variable rates to cover the cost of the hike (so it's not out of their pocket).

👉 They don't have to pass on the rises in full, but it's likely they will. Unfortunately, that means for anyone with a variable rate, your minimum repayments will increase.

💥 Now, here's what you can do about:

👍 If your property has gone up in value since you last reviewed your interest rate, we can likely negotiate a discounted rate with your lender, or find a new lender who will give you a better deal.

👍If you haven't reviewed your rate in the last 12 months (or just worried that it's not competitive), book a quick review with me - I'll be able to tell pretty quickly if you can get a better deal.
