Narelle, our Senior Customer Service Officer, has chosen to donate her $1000 staff
contribution this year to the Mount Martha Life Saving Club. Narelle and her family
have been proud members of the club for 12 years, during which she has seen
firsthand the vital role it plays in our community.
Through its Nippers and Seniors Programs, the club helps young people build essential water safety knowledge, confidence and basic lifesaving skills while learning about being safe down at the
beach.
These young participants can go on to become qualified surf lifesavers who are a
familiar sight on our beaches each summer in their red and yellow, providing patrols, preventing accidents, and performing rescues when needed. Last year alone, 30% of
visitors to the Peninsula attended Mt Martha beach, where club lifesavers carried out 1,310 preventative actions (up from 699), 9 rescues and patrolled a total of 4,801
hours.
Club President John Harvey expressed his gratitude for Narelle’s support, noting that the funds will be put to very good use.
Narelle and Mt Martha Community Bank are proud to stand behind an organization
that strengthens safety, community spirit, and the wellbeing of everyone who enjoys
our beautiful coastline.

How good is it when work and community come together?

On the weekend, some of our branch staff and directors spent the afternoon at Alexandra Park, enjoying a great game of local footy, catching up with familiar faces and sharing a few hot dogs under the Community Bank Mt Martha marquee.

While Mornington certainly gave their supporters plenty to cheer about, the highlight for us was spending time together outside the branch and connecting with the community we’re proud to be part of.

One of the things we love most about Community Bank Mt Martha is the culture we’ve built. Our team genuinely enjoys getting involved in local events, supporting community groups and spending time with the people and organizations that make our region such a great place to live.

Community banking is about so much more than transactions — it’s about relationships, connection and being present in the communities we serve.

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello. We look forward to seeing you at the next community event! Alexandra Park Mornington

On 28th May we hosted another Cancer Council Biggest Morning Tea; this being our 10th year hosting. The branch was a hub of activity with many in our community popping in for a cuppa and cake. We are delighted to announce that we raised $2,995.37 this year and in the 10 years of hosting, we have now raised $27,854.53 towards this worthy cause. Many thanks to the 37 local businesses who collected donations, donated items for our raffled hampers and tasty treats for our morning tea. A special thanks to Fergus and the team at Warlimont & Nutt who put on a BBQ sausage sizzle to support us in raising funds; raising $1121.82 towards this figure. Another example of the good we do in the community!

Special thanks to the following businesses for their donation of goods/services for our morning tea and raffles:

Terry White Chemmart Pharmacy, Mt Martha Fine Foods
Healing Hands Massage Therapy, NewsXpress, Bells Meats, Embody Myotherapy

Well done to everyone for another fabulous result.

Today our branch proudly hosted Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea in support of the Cancer Council — bringing together our community for an incredibly important cause that touches so many lives.

So far in 2026, the campaign has already raised more than $3.39 million Australia wide, with over 19,629 registered hosts across the country helping support Australians impacted by cancer.

For more than 30 years, Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea has united communities through connection, conversation and fundraising, with more than 500,000 participants taking part over that time.

Funds raised help support vital cancer research, prevention programs, Cancer Council support services, accommodation support and cancer helplines for individuals and families navigating incredibly difficult times.

Today was a beautiful reminder of the power of community — people coming together not only to raise funds, but to show support, compassion and hope for those affected by cancer.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, donated and helped make the morning so special. Every conversation, contribution and act of kindness helps make a genuine difference.

Community Bank Mt Martha is proud to support initiatives that bring people together while creating meaningful impact within our community.

Directors Donation- Tara Perkin to the Southern Peninsula Cancer Transport Group

This year, Tara chose to donate her Director’s Donation of $1,000 to the Southern Peninsula Cancer Transport Group in honor of her dad, who sadly passed away from cancer last year.

Throughout a cancer journey, there are so many moments that can feel overwhelming — appointments, treatments, long days and the emotional toll that comes with it all. Organizations like Southern Peninsula Cancer Transport Group provide more than just transport. They provide companionship, kindness, reassurance and support during what can often be some of the hardest days in a person’s life.

Entirely volunteer-run and not-for-profit, this incredible organization helps transport local patients to and from treatment, easing some of the burden for both patients and their families.

Sometimes, it’s not only the practical support that matters most, but simply knowing someone is there beside you.

In honor of Tara's Dad, She is incredibly proud to support an organization that brings comfort, care and connection to so many people within our community during difficult times.

Thank you to all of the volunteers for the compassion and generosity you show every single day.
