If you're going to work closely with someone, shouldn't you meet them first?
That's exactly what brought John to Cebu. ✈️
Coming to Cebu gave John, Managing Director of Eqeus, the chance to do what video calls can't quite replicate: meet his offshore team member in person, experience the culture firsthand, see where people work, and get to know the person behind the work.
As John put it, "The team is family. The culture is important, and it's genuine."
That warmth was something he felt from the moment he walked through our doors. Whether it was sharing stories over meals️, having a laugh with the team, or simply spending time together outside of work, every interaction reinforced what he'd already sensed from afar: a genuine culture built on connection, support, and care for one another.
His visit extended beyond the workplace, too. Through Bridging Communities, Qwrk's outreach program, John joined us on a visit to Home of Love, a shelter and rehabilitation center supporting women and children in vulnerable situations. There, he experienced another side of the community and saw firsthand what it means to help others in meaningful ways, a humbling and unforgettable part of the trip.
For John, this trip wasn't just about putting faces to names. It was about building relationships, understanding the people he works with, and experiencing their culture firsthand.
John, thank you for making the journey to Cebu. It was a pleasure having you here and showing you a little more of the people and culture behind the work.
