That's not a coincidence. Over the past year we built out a three-person SMSF Specialist Adviser team
— Cameron Holdsworth (SMSF Specialist, Aged Care Accredited, Financial Planner),
— Damian Hearn (SMSF Specialist, Senior Financial Planner) and
— Liam Shorte (Fellow SMSF Specialist, Senior Financial Planner).

Supported by a team of 7 in customer service led by Fiona Johnson and with the appointment of our new Professional Year Adviser Adam Fusca who is making the leap from being an Actuary to a Financial Planner with his depth of knowledge in the Insurance Industry.

That matters more than the badges do. A client with a complex pension strategy, a related-party transaction, or an aged care decision sitting inside their SMSF now has three specialists across the file, not one adviser working alone. Depth of advice shouldn't depend on who happens to answer the phone.

Congratulations to the other finalists. Credit for these three nominations goes to Cameron and Damian and the rest of our team as much as it does to Liam.

For non-superannuation assets, we have been searching for a Capital Gains Tax Calculator to reflect the final legislated CGT rules and we found a decent on at Stockspot. You can now model exactly how the changes could affect your own investments. It confirms why getting a valuation right before the rules change can matter so much. In some cases, relying on the Government's default valuation method instead of obtaining your own valuation could mean paying a lot more in extra capital gains tax.

This recognition in the executive category is particularly meaningful as this year we moved form a one-man-band to a team of 3 SMSF Specialist Advisors, Liam Shorte - SMSF Coach FSSA, Damian Hearn and Cameron Holdsworth and now the addition of Actuary, Adam Fusca, who is also going to do the PY Year and become a Financial Adviser bringing his expertise to help us with risk and longevity management for our clients.

Next year we have no doubt our new advisers will be on the podium too and being recognised for our holistic advice not just SMSFs.

Latest stats show SMSf growth continues as a valid option for some. We provide analysis of all options for our clients.

The Death of SMSFs has been called many times over the last 2 decades. The latest ATO stats (March 2026) show the true story and the banning of LRBAs will only dent the future numbers as the CGT changes will support superannuation growth and SMSFs as a strong sub-sector.
