Annual super statements are rolling out right now! Open yours and check your beneficiary section.

In this video, Chris breaks down the key differences between your options so you know exactly where you stand:

❌ 1. No Beneficiaries ("Let someone else work it out"): You haven't named anyone. The super fund has to trace family trees and death certificates to decide who gets your money—causing massive legal delays for your family.

⚠️ 2. Non-Binding ("A soft suggestion"): You've named someone, but it's only a recommendation. The fund will review your situation and can choose to split your money differently than you asked.

✅ 3. Binding ("A legal guarantee"): A legally binding direction. The fund MUST pay your money to the exact person you nominated.

Who can benefit / receive your super?
Under super law, binding nominations can ONLY go to legal dependents (your spouse/partner, children, or financial dependents) or your Estate (to be distributed by your Will). You cannot make a binding nomination to a best friend or neighbor!
