💛 R U OK?

Today is a reminder that a simple question can make a real difference.

Check in with your friends, family, colleagues, and the people who might not always say when they’re struggling. You don’t need to have the perfect words or all the answers — sometimes just listening and letting someone know you’re there is enough.

Don’t just ask today. Keep the conversation going.

Are you really OK? 💛

Does your child need to move, fidget or wiggle while they're sitting? It may not simply be “bad behaviour”. 💛

For some children with sensory needs, movement and sensory input can help them feel more regulated and ready to focus.

In today's quick OT tip, we're sharing 3 simple tools you can try:

🪑 Wobble cushion – provides ongoing movement and sensory input while sitting.

🖐️ Fidget toy – may help some children stay alert and focused by giving their hands something appropriate to do.

🦶 Elastic band around the chair legs – allows children to move their feet while remaining seated.

These strategies won't be right for every child, but they can be useful tools to explore with the guidance of an Occupational Therapist.

If you know a parent, teacher or carer who might find this helpful, tag them below or share this post. 👇

We took to the streets of Canberra with one very important question:

“Do you know what an Exercise Physiologist actually does?” 👀

We asked the general public… and let’s just say, we got some interesting answers. 😂

From confident guesses to completely unexpected responses, it turns out Exercise Physiology might be one of those professions people have heard of… but aren’t quite sure what we actually do!

So, how would YOU answer the question?

🎤 Watch the video and see what Canberra had to say!

We asked our team to stretch…

What they didn’t know was that we’d also be asking them to make a fool of themselves on camera. 😂

When you work in a serious job, sometimes you need to loosen up, have a laugh and embrace a little workplace silliness!

Safe to say, the stretching techniques were… varied. 😂🧘‍♀️

Who knew workplace wellbeing could be this entertaining?

🤟 What a fantastic day at the Deaf Festival!

Last weekend, we attended the Deaf Festival at Cathy Freeman Park in Sydney and had a wonderful time connecting with the Deaf community and learning about the amazing organisations supporting Deaf Australians.

Fiona also had the pleasure of meeting Lauren from Deaf Children Australia.

In this video, Fiona and Lauren chat together in Auslan (Australian Sign Language) about some of the free online cybersecurity training and resources available through Deaf Children Australia.

Staying safe online is so important, and it’s fantastic to see cybersecurity education being made accessible to the Deaf community.

A big thank you to Lauren and everyone at Deaf Children Australia for the incredible work you do! 🙌

Please watch, share and help spread the word about these free resources. 💙
