Strengthening Partnerships for Zimbabwe’s Banking Sector

On Tuesday, 18 August 2026, the Bankers Association of Zimbabwe - IOBZ hosted the International Finance Corporation (IFC) at the BAZ offices.

The IFC scoping mission team, led by Ms. Defne Akarcali, Principal Investment Officer, engaged directly with our sector. BAZ & IOBZ was represented by CEO, Mr. Fanwell Mutogo.

Discussions focused on:
- Private sector development in Zimbabwe
- Funding constraints facing local banks
- Potential avenues for collaboration to support growth and financial inclusion

We value this engagement as a key step toward unlocking more investment and strengthening Zimbabwe’s banking sector.
