Our annual cocktail party is one of the most important events on the Dwala calendar as it's an opportunity to meet up with old and new friends and show our appreciation for another year of incredible support. We had a fantastic event this year with a record turn out and the most amazing setting, thanks to Roosters and Cozim, and entertainment, courtesy of Mandi Mash. And this year Mandi even inspired a few clients to hit the dance floor - no photographic evidence of this, as what happens at Dwala stays at Dwala 😉

The inimitable Danny Candy has captured our Dwala Charity Christmas Party in images, and they say it all! Imagine a backtrack of laughter and music and you could well have been there with us!

Special thanks to our partners, United Refineries Limited, the Waterfront for the venue, Lee McNabb for once again being a fabulous Father Christmas with some serious dance moves, Lewis Ndlovu of Drums of Peace for the fun drumming sessions, to Brooks Express for the cakes, and Ritesh Daya, Petronella Rahman and all the Dwala and URL teams who helped out in so many ways. You all made a lot of people very, very happy!

And last but not least, a big thank you to Danny Candy for bringing it all to life in pictures! Until next year...

Our Dwala Charity Christmas Party is always a bit of an emotional roller coaster ride: there's the joy in the faces of the children and elderly when they see Santa coming and receive their gifts, there's the deep sadness when one old man tells you he can't remember when last he ate a meal so good. There's the pain of seeing missing faces among the elderly, those who are too ill or have passed away since last year, and the excitement of meeting new babies from the children's homes. There's immense gratitude to all the people who make it happen, under such difficult circumstances, and the anxiety that it is becoming more and more challenging to offer the assistance needed. Above all there's amazement at the generosity of corporates and individuals who have become our team members in this, the highlight of our year at Dwala and the culmination of a tough but productive year. Thank you especially to United Refineries Limited which has been our partner now for three years and which provided gorgeous gifts for our guests, donation packs for the homes and an incredible lunch. Team work really does make the dream work! More thank yous and photos to follow!
