The 2026 Inclusive Insurance Conference, was held from 26th to 28th May at Ciela Resort in Lusaka. Organized by the Microinsurance Technical Advisory Group (TAG) with the support of the Pensions and Insurance Authority, the event convened leading partners and stakeholders from across the insurance and financial inclusion ecosystem under the theme “Innovating for Inclusivity, Financial Performance and Impact.”
The conference provided a vital platform for dialogue on how the insurance industry can evolve to better serve underserved and vulnerable communities through innovative, sustainable, and inclusive solutions.
Discussions emphasized the need to go beyond access and focus on deepening impact, ensuring that insurance is more relevant, affordable, and trusted by the people it serves. Through the various panels, stakeholders were urged to prioritize customer-centric solutions that respond to real-life risks such as health costs, climate shocks, and loss of livelihoods, with particular focus on farmers, informal workers, MSMEs, women, and rural communities. This call to action reflects the industry’s commitment to designing inclusive products that truly strengthen resilience and deliver value where it matters most.
The conference reaffirmed that inclusive insurance is both a development imperative and a business opportunity, capable of expanding markets, strengthening resilience, and driving sustainable growth.
As an Authority, in collaboration with industry, look forward to translation of these insights into practical actions that advance financial inclusion and strengthen resilience for all.
