Zambia’s Commerce, Trade, and Industry Minister Hon. Chipoka Mulenga opened the 9th African Agribusiness Incubation Conference & Expo ( ) in Lusaka this morning, urging African nations to enhance intercontinental trade.

He emphasized that Africa can only develop if countries within the continent conduct more business with each other. "Let us trade more within ourselves. It is the only way we are going to improve our living standards," he said.

Hon. Mulenga noted that Africa has historically conducted business with the rest of the world but not within itself, leading to capital flight out of the region. He also stressed the need for improved connectivity and a unified currency to facilitate intra-African trade and curb capital flight.

The three-day conference is organized by the African Agribusiness Incubation Network (AAIN), which has accredited Musika as a national partner to spearhead the organization of AAICE 2024, the first to be held in Zambia.

The theme for AAICE 2024 is "Enhancing Entrepreneurship, Education, and Innovative Skills for Employment in Africa."
