The Bank, in collaboration with the Zambia Statistics Agency and other financial sector stakeholders, launched the 2025 Financial Scoping (FinScope) Topline Survey Results on April 30, 2026, at Mulungushi International Conference Center. The Survey – which was the fifth since 2005 – was conducted to assess the financial landscape and measure the levels of financial inclusion in the country. Overall, the level of financial inclusion increased to 80.1% in 2025 from 69.4% in 2020. Formal inclusion rose to 76.4% from 61.3% over the same period, largely due to the continued high usage of mobile money. Informal inclusion increased to 52.0% from 32.3% on account of wider usage of community-based financial institutions such as Chilimba, Savings Groups, Village Banks and Savings and Credit Co-operatives (SACCOs). See below the highlights of the key topline findings.
