Planning, collaboration, and celebration perfectly captured the spirit of the Forum for Zambian Women Accountants (FZWA)

What happens when vision meets purpose? You create a roadmap for impact.

On 12 July 2024, the Forum for Zambian Women Accountants (FZWA) had an inspiring day of planning, collaboration, and celebrating excellence.

The morning was dedicated to a productive planning meeting, where the FZWA Executive Committee strategically mapped out priorities for the remaining six months of the year. We explored initiatives aimed at strengthening member engagement, expanding our impact, and delivering meaningful programmes that empower women in the accounting profession.

A major focus of the discussions was our flagship event of the year: the FZWA Symposium, Annual General Meeting (AGM), and Gala Dinner. We are committed to making this year's event bigger, better, and more impactful, so stay tuned. You won't want to miss it!

The afternoon shifted from planning to celebration as we proudly recognized and congratulated the remarkable FZWA women who were elected to serve on the ZICA Council and various Committees. Their achievements are not only personal milestones but also a powerful reflection of the growing influence, competence, and leadership of women within the accounting profession.

We were also honoured to have the ZICA Vice President, Ms. Rebecca Hichilo, join us, reaffirming the strong partnership between ZICA and FZWA and demonstrating a shared commitment to advancing the accounting profession.

A heartfelt tribute was paid to our immediate Past Vice National Coordinator, Ms Hellen Kalumbi, whose dedication, passion, and selfless service have played a significant role in strengthening FZWA. Thank you for your leadership, your commitment, and for continuing to support the organization as we build on the foundation you helped establish.

As we move into the second half of the year, we remain focused on empowering women accountants, promoting professional excellence, strengthening our network, and creating opportunities that enable women to thrive and lead with confidence.

To every woman in the profession—your voice, your leadership, and your contribution matter. Together, we are shaping the future of accountancy, one opportunity at a time.
