STOCKING OF FINGERLINGS IN THE FISH POND-BEGINNER'S GUIDE

- The fish pond should be fertilized two weeks before the fingerlings are introduced.
- Buy fingerlings from reputable suppliers who have a track record of supplying good quality and sizeable fingerlings.
- Be guided on how to transport the fingerlings to your farm to avoid mortalities.
- Before introducing the fingerlings into the fish pond, leave the bags in water for about 30 minutes for temperature of water in the bag to be in equilibrium with pond water.
- Slowly open the bags and allow water in the pond to mix with water in the bag, then let the fingerlings swim out on their own.
- Allow the fingerlings to get acquainted to the environment for a day before feed is introduced to them.
- Be guided by experts on the feeding of your fish and other factors upto the time of harvest.
