🇿🇦 All eyes are on the South African Reserve Bank this week, with the latest inflation figures and an important interest-rate decision expected on Wednesday. Inflation eased to 4.3% in July, although higher international oil prices and renewed fuel-price pressure have complicated the outlook. 📊 South Africa’s GDP contracted by 0.2% in the second quarter. However, there are some encouraging signs: economic activity improved during July and August, raising hopes of a return to modest growth in the third quarter.

💱 The rand has also remained relatively resilient despite global uncertainty, supported in part by South Africa’s precious-metal exports and commodity prices. ⛽ Motorists may face another difficult month at the pumps. Early estimates point to significant petrol and diesel increases in October, but the final figures will continue to move with the rand and international oil prices.

As always, markets will react to the headlines, but successful investing is rarely about predicting the next move. Staying diversified, disciplined and focused on your long-term financial goals remains key.
