Weekly Thought: 𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗡𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗼𝗼 𝗟𝗮𝘁𝗲
“𝗜𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼𝗼 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗺𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻.” – 𝗚𝗲𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗲 𝗘𝗹𝗶𝗼𝘁
George Eliot reminds us that it is never too late to be what you might have been.
Many of us carry a quiet list of things we once meant to do. A skill we never learned. A conversation we never had. A direction we never took. Over time we start to believe the window has closed.
Potential does not work like a train timetable. It works more like a seed. It can lie still for years and still grow the moment the conditions change.
Most of us know someone who started again later than anyone expected. A new role at fifty or even sixty. A first qualification at forty. A fresh beginning after a hard season.
The only real deadline is the one we set in our own minds.
As the year draws to a close, perhaps the question is not whether it is too late. It is what we are still willing to begin.
