🏍️ The countdown is on!

Join us on Saturday, 5 September 2026, for the 18th Caledon Canola Run—a scenic, beginner- and pillion-friendly motorbike ride through the beautiful canola and wheat fields of the Overberg.

9 days to go for our 18th Canola Run!

Canola Run is a fun run for two wheel motorbikes in the heart of the Overberg between the canola and wheat fields on private farm roads.

Make sure to buy your ticket online. Will also be available on the day at registration.

The start and end location is on a working farm just outside Caledon. Tables and chairs will be available in a big store. There will be pannekoek and toasties for sale in the morning and coffee will be available.

The route is beginner and pillion friendly. No sand on the route, only gravel and a few shallow low level crossings. Route is between 60-90km with stop halfway. Remember to bring your own fuel, there will be a bakkie available for the fuel containers. Backup bakkies will be on the route to assist bikes.

Lunch will be lekker Overberg braaivleis, prepared by Caledon Rapportryers, salad and something sweet afterwards. The bar will be open for a cold one.

Strong genetics. Strong demand. A successful day for the Bonsmara industry. 🐂

Overberg Agri Alexandria was proud to support the Frontier Bonsmaras Auction, held at the Grahamstown Auction Yard on 19 August 2026.

JJ Schutte from our Alexandria branch joined producers, buyers and industry partners for a well-supported auction presented by Hobson & Co.

The quality of the animals on offer was reflected in the strong prices achieved. The majority of bulls sold for between R50 000 and R150 000, with several standout prices on the day. The highlight was Lot 52 from Van Kerken Bonsmara, which achieved an impressive R420 000 – the highest price of the auction.

Congratulations to Frontier Bonsmaras, the breeders, buyers and everyone involved in a successful day. We are proud to support the livestock industry and the farming communities we serve.

🐑 Goeie gehalte, goeie pryse en lekker kuier by Welgegund!

Overberg Agri was trots om as borg deel te wees van die onlangse Welgegund-veiling op die plaas van Hoffmeyer (Hoffie) van Blerk.

Met 50 Merino-ramme, 6 Suffolk-ramme en 11 Suffolk-ooie onder die hamer, en rampryse wat tot R23 000 gehaal het, was dit ’n suksesvolle dag! Produsente van Malmesbury, Darling, Hopefield, Piketberg en Heidelberg het die veiling ondersteun.

Jayson Jennings, ons Meganisasie-bemarker in die Malmesbury-omgewing, was namens Overberg Agri daar en het lekker saam met die produsente gekuier.
