Women's Month ends today. The momentum does not.

Thank you for reading along this month. Here is what we hope stays with you:

• Financial advice is a career with real room for more women in it

• Cover in your own name is one of the quickest wins available to you

• The levers that build a strong retirement are all in your control

• Confidence comes from seeing your own numbers, and that takes an afternoon

• Asking what everything costs is exactly what a good adviser hopes you will do

Awareness is the easy part. The satisfying work is slower: real projections, cover reviewed against current income, and clients who feel free to ask anything.

So the invitation we made at the start of August stands for the rest of the year. If you want a plan built around your actual life, or you are considering this industry as a career, talk to us.

Here is to the next twelve months.

Worth celebrating: Old Mutual's 2025 research found that young South African women save more and manage debt better than men early in their careers.

The instincts are already excellent. Here is how to give them a structure that compounds.

Six practical things worth having in place:

• An emergency fund in your own name

• A bank account and credit record of your own

• Cover on your own life and income, not only your partner's

• Retirement contributions that continue through career breaks

• A current will, with beneficiary nominations that match it

• Knowing where the documents are and what is in them

That last one matters most. The biggest upgrade most people can make is simply getting a clear view of what they already have, and it is usually a pleasant surprise.

Financial independence is not only about wealth. It is about having options.

For a private, no-obligation conversation, our line is open.

Dinner with the President...
Last night our CEO, Pedri Reyneke, attended a private dinner at The Saxon with President Cyril Ramaphosa- an intimate evening of conversation on the future of South Africa. "Last night was an incredible experience- not only to meet President Ramaphosa, but to experience the optimism and positivity in the room and listen to different insights about our country and the future of SA.Proud to have Multilink Financial Services in the room, and prouder still of the work our team does every day to back it up- helping South African families and businesses plan properly, protect what they've built, and retire with something to show for it."

Financial advice is one of the best careers almost nobody hears about at school.

You build a practice around your own clients. You set your own hours. You can do it from a small town. You earn according to what you build. And you spend your days helping families make decisions that shape generations.

It asks something of you up front: the regulatory exams, a qualification, and time working under supervision while you build your client base. It is a proper apprenticeship, and it is very doable with good mentorship around you.

That is the part we care about getting right, because when the support is there, this profession opens up to a much wider group of brilliant people.

So if you are a woman with a commerce, maths, law or actuarial background wondering what else you could do with it, or you are already in the industry and ready for your next step, we would love to hear from you.

There is room for you here.

Five questions to ask before you say yes to any investment or policy. Screenshot these.

1. What does this cost me in total each year? Platform fee, advice fee and fund fee added together.

2. What are my options if I need the money in three years?

3. How is the person advising me paid? A great question, and a good adviser will answer it happily.

4. What is this actually for? Retirement, a deposit, school fees and an emergency fund deserve four different homes.

5. What happens to this if I am not here? Your will, your policies and your beneficiary nominations should all agree.

Asking good questions is how trust gets built, on both sides of the desk. We genuinely welcome every one of them.

Take these to your next meeting. Ours included.

Confidence about money is not something you are born with. It is something you build, and it is quicker to build than most people think.

The Sanlam Benchmark 2025 Consumer Study found that 8% of South African women in retirement funds feel very confident about retiring comfortably. We see that as a big opportunity, because the route to confidence is genuinely simple.

It comes down to three answers:

• What do I have, and what is it costing me every year?

• How big is the gap between that and what I will need?

• Which changes would close it fastest?

That is a projection and an afternoon.

Every woman who sits down and does this says the same thing afterwards: I wish I had done it sooner.
