Donation FAQs 💜

Thinking about becoming an egg donor? Here are some of the questions we hear most often.

- Do egg donors get paid?
Yes. Donors receive compensation for their time, commitment and travel expenses in line with South African reproductive guidelines.

- Is egg donation safe?
Yes. Egg donation is a well-established medical procedure carried out under the care of experienced fertility specialists.

- Will donating my eggs affect my future fertility?
No. Egg donation does not reduce your ability to have children in the future.

- Is egg retrieval painful?
The procedure is performed under sedation and takes around 20 minutes. Most donors experience only mild cramping afterwards, similar to period pain.

- Are there side effects?
Some donors may experience temporary bloating, mild discomfort or mood changes, but these usually resolve within a short time.
