The NHFC is proud to have participated in the launch of yet another Social Housing Project in the City of Cape Town, Western Cape, as part of the Department’s Pre-Budget Vote activities. 🇿🇦

The Somerlife Social Housing Project in Somerset will deliver 1 034 well-located housing units, including studio, 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom apartments, contributing to the development of integrated human settlements.
Strategically located near social amenities and economic opportunities, the development will improve access and quality of life for beneficiaries.

Highlighting the urgent need for accelerated housing delivery, Minister of Human Settlements, Thembi Simelane, noted that while the project will provide over a thousand units, applications received exceeded 14 000, reinforcing the growing demand for social housing in South Africa.
