Happy 3rd Birthday to Envi Life 🎉

What a journey it has been! From vision to impact, from bold ideas to meaningful change.

Three years ago, we set out with a mission: to transform how insurance serves people, to make it accessible, human-centric, and deeply relevant. Today, we proudly mark Envi’s 3rd birthday, and we take this opportunity to take stock and reflect on the journey thus far!

Over the last 36 months, we have:
• Built a resilient business and team, despite a challenging business context
• Developed and maintained a strong governance culture
• Challenged ourselves in how we think about product innovation that is fit for purpose
• Built trust in communities that were traditionally underserved
• Initiated the innovation of processes to respond faster, fairer, and smarter
• Partnered with incredible teams, advisors, and impact-driven stakeholders

This milestone isn’t just about the passage of time it’s a marker of growth, of lessons learned, of lives touched, and of belief in a better future.

A few reflections from the journey:
Resilience is essential - early days were hard. But staying anchored to purpose carried us through.

People first - from employees to customers and policy holders, empathy, integrity, and listening make all the difference.

Iteration beats perfection - we’ve learned more in the pivots than in the plan.

Community matters - success is not only about numbers, but about trust, reputation, and shared value.

To everyone who’s been part of this ride, our team, our partners, our clients and our shareholders, thank you. This is just the beginning.

Here’s to many more years of impact, innovation, and meaningful service. 🥂

The engagement mainly focused on how Envi Africa Life shows up on this topic, including how our products can help the excluded to be part of the mainstream insurance sector. Here is an audio clip of the interview in case you missed it live!

At Envi Africa Life, our purpose is to be the preferred life insurer for South Africa’s underserved market. Many financial institutions are used to concentrating on the wealthier middle classes and often neglect riskier customers from the informal economy. With Approximately 13.8 million South Africans living below the food poverty line. Those at the bottom of the economic pyramid often lack meaningful access to formal banking services. So what options are there for those who can’t afford formal banking services or access to life or funeral insurance?
