Emergency Response Plan - Group Personal Accident (GPA) – Emergency Health cover for staff, scholars and students at School, College, or University.

Dear Broker

In today’s emailer we present our Emergency Response Cover (linked to a 24-hour Netcare911 call center) for scholars, students, and staff. Cover includes Accidental injuries that happen during official hours, at sports and school activities on the education institution’s premises as well as official outings and excursions.

This cover is compulsory for all scholars and students.
Premiums are payable annually in advance and are:

Scholars up to Grade 12 – R 73.00 per annum
Students (Postgraduate) – R 103.00 per annum
Minimum Annual premium – R 7,300 per annum

Typically, during the months of July and August, Education Institutions decide on benefits for the next Academic year - this is the perfect opportunity for you to market these benefits to your clients.

Although this cover does not absolve the school or institution of their duty to be aware of the safety of the scholars and students under their care, or the possibility of a public liability situation, it does however ensure that they receive the best private emergency healthcare treatment available.

Xpect Medical Aid Premium Waiver 2024

We are excited to introduce our Xpect Medical Aid Premium Waiver benefit, a valuable rider benefit to our group Income Disability cover, brought to you by Health & Accident and insured by Guardrisk Life.

This benefit provides the employee and their family with financial protection against the financial difficulty of continuity of medical scheme cover if an employee is disabled. Medical aid premiums are one of the most important expenses in an employee’s budget.

This insured benefit effectively relieves some of the financial burden during disability by continuing the employee’s medical aid premiums for a company elected duration of up to a year or two, including the savings element if applicable.
The following monthly limits are capped at an overall maximum of R9 600 per month:

Principal Member -R 3 000 per month
Spouse - R 2 600 per month
Child - R 1 350 per month

The employer may choose between 12 and 24 months, including the waiting period.

Happy Valentines day from Health & Accident.

Remember our Gap cover offering for 2024.

There are a number of reasons why you may have to pay out-of-pocket costs when you go to hospital. However, one of the most common causes of out-of-pocket expenses is the difference between what your specialist charges and what your medical scheme will pay given your elected medical scheme option.

Gap Cover is for those who have Medical Scheme cover, have a tight budget, and cannot afford unexpected medical shortfalls. Gap Cover is a non-life insurance product that provides members of a medical scheme extra cover for medical shortfalls incurred for in-hospital procedures.

Gap cover is an affordable and essential solution.
Did you know that you can get Standalone Gap cover for your clients (excluding cover for Hospital Co-payments) from as little as R226 / family / month or including cover for Hospital Co-payments from R309 / family / month.
Policy benefits are limited to R198 660/ insured person per annum.

Reminder Gap Cover Offering 2023

Dear Broker

This is a reminder of the importance of Gap cover and what Gap cover offers.

Unexpected medical bill? Reminder Medical Aids does not cover all Medical Bills…. avoid the Risk of Medical Debts from Shortfall Surprises.

Medical Scheme membership does not mean that a member will be fully covered for in - hospital procedures. It is likely that contracted specialists will charge more than what the medical scheme is prepared to pay, resulting in shortfalls for the member’s own account.

Spiralling healthcare costs leave consumers exposed to out-of-pocket hospitalisation expenses not fully covered by the Scheme Rate pertaining to their Medical Scheme option.
